THE OMBUDSWOMAN TO THE COUNCILLORS: "IT IS URGENT TO PROVIDE SUFFICIENT STAFF TO SOME SERVICES"

September 20, 2024

Today, Friday, within the context of the special Commission on claims and suggestions for the month of October, the municipal councillors have been presented with the reality faced by the citizens when dealing with municipal services.

Thus, among others, the Ombudsman's office has highlighted:

  • The need to provide the municipal Treasury with sufficient staff to handle EXECUTIVE APPEALS, as the increase in appeals has caused delays in their resolution, EXCEEDING 15 MONTHS.

  • The irregular and unchecked occupation of industrial loading containers in public streets, which occurs, among other places, on Camp de Déu St. or Son Pobanya St.

  • The lack of a receipt when citizens submit complaints on the websites of municipal companies (EMAYA, EMT, etc.).

  • The need to improve the app for obtaining appointments at the municipal Census office.

  • The need for additional staff to GUARANTEE CONTROL of the irregular occupation of public streets for privately-owned construction projects, allegedly authorized.

All in all, these are issues that are not unknown to the councillors, as the Ombudsman's office has repeatedly communicated them.
